Help & support

Useful answers before you need to ask.

Common questions about working with Datarush, our services, Digital MOT and what happens when you need technical help.

Getting started

Working with Datarush

Do I need a detailed brief before contacting you?

No. A clear description of the problem, target or outcome is enough to start. We can help turn that into a practical scope.

Can you work with our existing website, hosting or IT provider?

Yes. We can work alongside an existing supplier, take responsibility for a specific area or provide a clear technical action for another provider to implement.

Do you only work with businesses in Scotland?

No. Datarush is based in Scotland and works with businesses across the UK.

Can I ask for a quote before committing to anything?

Yes. Give us the objective and enough context to understand the work. Where the scope is clear we can quote; where it is not, we will explain what needs established first.

Digital MOT

Digital MOT questions

What does Digital MOT check?

It checks public signals including website availability, SSL, DNS, email authentication, selected security headers, basic SEO signals, performance and obvious indexability problems.

Does Digital MOT make changes to my website?

No. It is a read-only external check. It does not log into your website, hosting, DNS or email systems.

Does a pass mean my website is completely secure?

No. Digital MOT is a broad health check, not a penetration test, vulnerability assessment or compliance certification.

What should I do with a fail or advisory?

Use it as a starting point. Some findings are urgent, some are improvements and some need context. Datarush can review the result and tell you what is worth prioritising.

Marketing

SEO, Google Ads & lead generation

Can you manage SEO and Google Ads together?

Yes. They solve different parts of the acquisition problem and can be managed together where that produces a better commercial outcome.

Do you guarantee rankings or a fixed number of leads?

No responsible provider can guarantee organic rankings or market demand. We work around measurable targets, transparent activity and improving the factors we can influence.

Can you improve an existing campaign rather than rebuild everything?

Yes. We can audit what exists, identify waste or missed opportunities and retain anything already working well.

Technical

Websites, hosting, security & support

Can you take over an existing website?

Usually, yes. We first establish the platform, hosting, access, dependencies and current risks before making changes.

Can you help if a website or email system is already failing?

Yes. Tell us clearly that the issue is live and time-sensitive. We will focus first on understanding impact and stabilising the problem before discussing longer-term improvements.

Do you provide ongoing support after a project?

Yes. Support and maintenance can be arranged for websites, hosting and wider technical systems where ongoing ownership makes sense.

What is the difference between monitoring and a security audit?

Monitoring watches for events, availability or changes over time. An audit is a deeper point-in-time assessment. The right choice depends on what you need to know or protect.

DON’T LEAVE A KNOWN PROBLEM SITTING

If it is costing leads, visibility, uptime or time, it is worth looking at now.

Tell us what is happening. We will help establish whether there is a quick fix, a larger project or nothing worth spending money on yet.
